The Bonavista Team



Office Manager

Vilma joined us in 2006. She is our Licensed Optician with experience in the eye care field since 1995. She's trained in the latest lens technology available to suit your optical needs. She will be happy to assist you and your family.

Vilma is fluent in Spanish as well.



Optometric Assistant

Krystal joined our team in October 2006 as a receptionist and pretester. She received her Optometric Assistant certificate in 2008. With her experience in the optical industry, she will be happy to assist you with all your vision needs.



Optometric Assistant

Fallan started at our clinic in 2007 and has been a certified optometric assistant since 2008. After taking a year off for maternity leave, Fallan re-joined our team and is in charge of our contact lens department. She is trained in all positions of the clinic and is always happy to help you with any of your optical needs.



Optometric Assistant

Julia has been in the optical industry since 2007. She joined our clinic in 2011. She has successfully completed the Optometric Assistance course in 2009. Julia is a key member to the clinic and is available to help with all of your optical needs from glasses to contact lenses.



Optometric Assistant

Jillene has been working in the optical industry in 2009. She joined our team in January 2013 and completed her Optometric Assistant course in 2015. She is trained to assist you through each step of your visit with us, and enjoys helping you with selecting the perfect set of glasses for you.



Optometric Assistant

Marnie joined the team in 2006. She left the clinic in 2011 to gather more experience with Dr. Robert Mitchell and then Dr. Michael Ashenhurst two very well-known ophthalmologists. Marnie rejoined the team part time in June of 2013 and is thrilled to be back full time as of January 2014. With a strong back ground in the optical industry Marnie is available to help with any requirements or questions you might have when it comes to your optical needs.



Office Administration

Damaris joined us in 2013. Her experience and certifications in administration and accounting help our office to run efficiently. She works mainly at the back office, and she is the one behind the running process on digitalization of files, accounting assistant, and to remind our patients when their time has come for a full eye exam. Damaris speaks Spanish as well.




Alexis joined our office in 2016. One of her specialties is Pre-Testing patients, and assisting the Doctors with their exams. Alexis has a genuine interest in people and she enjoys connecting with patients. She especially enjoys working with children that come in for their eye exams.



BEA Consultant

Gord joined our team in 2010 with many years of Optical and Leadership experience with a global optical retailer and with private Optometry offices.



Lab Technician

Sandyman began his Optics Apprenticeship straight out of School back in England, 1972. He worked in Leicester with a small Family Practice grinding lenses into frames using only chipping pliers and a handstone. Thankfully since then, the Technology has improved tremendously in machinery and lens product capabilities. These days Sandy can be found grinding "Perfect Pairs of Spectacle's" for both our locations in our new Lab situated at our Olds Office. In addition, he now has facilities on site for Solder repair, Partial tinting of certain lenses and can service set Single Vision lens requirements within the same or next day. Olds Eyecare welcomes Sandyman to their Family and is looking forward to increasing our Patients' Edging Service Times, Quality and Lens requirements accordingly.

In his spare time, Sandyman can be found enjoying time with his wife Laurie, their daughter Olivia and their family pet, Kitty. His Hobbies are Card Games, Golf, Tennis, Computer and Biking.
